The Rhythm We Forgot
Is this the wisdom we are seeking the pulse that lives inside you?
Is remembering this rhythm the first step back to wholeness?
We live in an age of astonishing breakthroughs.
We’ve mapped genes, split atoms, edited DNA,
and traced time to a 13.8-billion-year expansion.
We know gravity shaped galaxies, stars forged elements, and our atoms come from ancient stellar fire.
We’ve even found a clock inside our cells, tuned
to light, coded in rhythm.
Yes, we’ve uncovered so much.
But in all we’ve come to know,
we forgot the silent pulse
the one that breathes in our bones
and moves through our blood.
When we became bipedal and stood tall, we gained a
new freedom.
Our hands were released to hold,
carry, create, and shape the world.
But standing upright narrowed the birth canal,
and so, human babies began to arrive earlier; tender, curious, and entirely dependent.
Unlike deer that run within minutes,
or turtles that hatch and crawl to the sea alone,
human babies couldn’t walk, feed, or stay warm on their own.
They needed years of care,
to be held, fed, protected, and shaped by love.
There were no manuals, no maps for how to care for a newborn
so deeply dependent
so,
We watched. we listened.
To the baby.To each other.
To the world around us.
To the cry that rose like a signal.
To the breath that changed with pain or peace.
To the warmth of skin, the turning of a head,
the rooting mouth, the steady gaze.
We mirrored. we mimicked.
we responded.
And in that quiet exchange,
we attuned with presence.
Breath slowed.
Heartbeats began to synchronise.
Two bodies, one rhythm.
We rose with the sun because the babies
stirred with light.
We slept near fire because babies needed warmth.
We moved with the seasons
because food, health, and life depended on it.
We learned rain by watching clouds.
We learned direction from birds.
We watched animals give birth and learned
how to care, what to eat, and what not to.
We learned stillness from mountains,
We learned life from seed.
We learned to return from soil.
The needs of this new born led to
And through it all, a pattern emerged
A way to move, to rest, to gather, to give.
A way to live in sync with the world.
And in that quiet knowing,
We discovered rhythm.
And what began as necessity,
became a way of life.
Each gesture, each pattern,
carried forward in body, in breath, in bone.
Our skin knows the sun.
Our breath knows the wind.
Our hunger knows the Earth’s turning.
because….
The rhythm lives in you by design.
